RESIDENT BREWING CO: BREWERY & TASTING ROOM

Location: Downtown San Diego, California
Size: 2,600 square foot brewery and tasting room
Finishes: We removed the existing plaster to expose the 80 year old brick wall behind the cellar tanks. The structure is exposed and there is massive amounts of interior/ exterior storefront glazing
Designer/Arch: Hurkes/ Harris Design Associates; Element Design Build
Our goal was to incorporate a new 10 barrel brewery and tasting room into an existing downtown restaurant/ bar that was located within a 100 year old building on a trolley line.
We created a fully functioning, stand-alone brewery adjacent to and visible from within the Local Eatery and Drinking Hole. The tasting room was incorporated into the Local’s interior while remaining a seperate legal entity.
