Convert a 1950’s era men’s department store into a fully functional production brewery with a brand-centric tasting room. Complete general contracting, construction management & full interior design for this one-of-a-kind build.

Selective structural demo: create steel exoskeleton within the basement structure to allow for the removal of more than 500 sq.ft. of floor area, providing a unique view into the belly of the brewery. Complete plumbing, electrical and HVAC upgrades throughout; custom shou-sugi-ban charred cedar cladding inside & out; from the bar top to the menu boards, diagonal siding and drink rails – all exposed lumber was salvaged and repurposed from the site. Truly a special project.

Noteworthy: We worked very closely with the City of Chula Vista during planning and construction. This was the first production brewery with a 10bbl brewhouse and cellar capacity in excess of 120bbl to be allowed in a mixed/residential area; allowed with the intention of creating a growth catalyst for the “West Side” of Chula Vista. Mission accomplished.
